A Fairy Big Problem

With only 70-some odd days until the baby boy gets here, I'm feeling the pressure to get things done. In fact, I think I'm pretty much trying to squish all kinds of projects in now because I don't know how long it will be until I feel creative again after I rejoin the land of the walking momma-zombies.

So, I've been working on Maddie's Halloween goodies. I cheated and bought her costume, but I made her a treat bag (that she loooooves):


and a wand:


which she also seems to be a big fan of...


So now there's just one problem left...


Yeah. She hates her costume. After last year's kitty costume debacle, we promised her something girly this year. After some more thought, I think she'd probably prefer to be a naked baby for Halloween. For some reason, only middle-aged men seem to get away with that costume.

For Halloween Madeleine was a kitten.  We felt this was completely appropriate, but she wasn't that thrilled with it.  We took a shot of her in part of the costume when we first got it, and really, this is the best picture.  Most of the real shots from Halloween show her as a very sad, tearful kitten.

and this is about as happy as she looked in that getup...mostly she was just crying or on the verge of crying...We did get some more photos the next weekend on Halloween...I safety pinned the face part so it didn't cover her eyes.  Less crying ensued, but she was still just pretty happy to get out of the costume!  Next year, we'll go with a princess theme.  We think she'll like that better.
